INSET FACE FRAMED CABINETRY...
Face framed cabinets require premium cabinetry craftmanship. Many specialized details (both in design and construction) need to come together to pull it off successfully. This is what SIlverdale Hill Cabinetry Ltd. has specialized in for more than 28 years. Face framed cabinets are often the cabinets you fall in love with in magazines -- even when at first glance, you may not realize what draws you to them.
Details that set Face Framed cabinets apart from Frameless:
Details that set Face Framed cabinets apart from Frameless:
- visible frames around doors and drawers
- flush inset doors (doors do not sit on top of the boxes, as in frameless construction, but sit level within a frame)
- optional applied beading trim around the frames (this detail can add another layer of interest -- its not always done, depending on chosen style of cabinetry)
- exposed hinges (can also be hidden for a more contemporary look)
- furniture style foot and apron details
FRAMELESS CABINETRY...
Frameless cabinets, also known as European Style Cabinets, are the more cost-effective type of cabinet construction, when compared to Face Framed. They use available space efficiently as no space gets lost to the stiles and rails (the dividing pieces between and around the doors and drawers) of face framed cabinets. With frameless cabinetry the doors and drawers line up tight with the other doors and drawers.
Just because frameless cabinets are more cost effective than face framed cabinets does not mean you have to give up great style. It's still possible to pack a lot of personal style into a frameless design with additional design details.
